A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration N816NW performing flight DL-71 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Atlanta,GA (USA), was climbing out of Amsterdam when the crew stopped the climb at FL240 due a problem with an engine (PW4168) and returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 36C about 45 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

The engine is going to be replaced.
